FAQ’s About Our Stonemasonry and Hardscaping Specialist Services
Burning to ask those questions and can’t wait for the answers?
Find clear, concise answers to those Frequently Asked Questions about our heritage stonemasonry and hardscaping services, so you can learn what to expect when choosing Strata Stoneworks.
How long does a typical project take?
Due to the nature of heritage stonework and hardscaping and natural materials every project is bespoke and varies vastly from one job to the next in terms of size, complexity, methodology, access and environmental factors such as weather.
However generally speaking most projects we undertake are completed anywhere from a few days for minor builds/repairs to a few months or longer for complex, large scale whole garden transformation projects.
How do you minimise the environmental impact of landscaping? Are your materials environmentally sustainable?
We prioritise using durable materials and techniques that endure over time, minimising the need for future changes or re-landscaping and preserving the timeless beauty of your landscape.
Our commitment to sustainability guides every project, as we reduce reliance on heavy machinery and plant equipment whenever possible.
When suitable, we partner with local suppliers and stone reclamation yards to incorporate recycled materials such as reclaimed stone, proudly giving them new life in your project.
Furthermore, all associated waste is responsibly handled by Registered Waste Carriers, Brokers, or Dealers. No burning. No fly-tipping.
Can you customise stonework and pointing styles to match historic properties?
Absolutely, we specialise in tailoring our craftsmanship to preserve and enhance heritage aesthetics, ensuring our work sits well within its context.
What should I expect during the consultation process?
We discuss your vision, assess the site and explain our methods and working practices to ensure a clear plan moving forward.
Do you provide a maintenance service?
We do not offer general maintenance services such as mowing, garden clearances, hedge trimming, or tree work. However, we can and do include these tasks where required as part of site preparation for specific projects. As specialists in Stonemasonry and Hardscaping, our focus is on delivering expert craftsmanship and exceptional service in these areas.
By concentrating on our core expertise, we ensure the highest quality results and avoid spreading ourselves too thin. This dedication allows us to be the best at what we do.
I already have a design, will you work with my designer?
Absolutely, we are always happy to work alongside designers/architects and are fully competent at following complex designs as well as redesigning/overcoming issues or errors within a design on the fly. Leave it to the pros, it’s all in a days work.
Do you provide a full design service, plans and 3D renders etc?
Whilst we Design & Build features, walls and mid complexity landscapes, we are not a design studio and do not currently offer a full design service with more complex specialist designs, detailed technical plans or 3D renders.
If you need this service, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We can connect you with outstanding design studios that excel at bringing dream projects to life and we would be more than happy to collaborate throughout the process to create something truly exceptional.
